About event
Crises and the way they deal with crises started “small” in the Austrian communications industry. Here and there a company, more rarely an entire industry (keyword wine scandal 1985) or public institutions (keyword Kaprun 2000) needed crisis communication.
These initial approaches and handling methods emerged at a time when - at least in Austria – the population was characterized by a spirit of optimism or at least confidence. Crises, if they existed, and their treatment by the media, may have had something sensationalistic about them, but they had no effect on the general public mood.
It looks completely different today. In recent decades, Austria has been increasingly affected and shaken by large-scale crisis scenarios of international proportions (keyword: financial and economic crisis in 2009, Euro crisis in 2014 or refugee crisis in 2015). Crises come at ever shorter intervals and they are becoming more and more permanent, the consequences of which are a constant concern for Austrians (keywords: climate, pandemic, war, income gap, inflation, recession).
Crises now affect us all , and demand strategic solutions and solution-oriented communication from us. And this is exactly where our learning breakfast starts.
We would like to look at and discuss the topic from different perspectives. We are particularly interested in the strategies of those who, as social and/or economic multipliers, bear a particularly high degree of responsibility for the mood in the population.
That is why we are looking forward to strong impulses from selected ones Experts:
- Verena Nowotny, partner at Gaisberg Consulting
- Martina Salomon , editor of KURIER
- Mag. Martin Schipany, Head of the Communication and Media Department of the City of Vienna
- Christoph Schuh, Head of Communications at APG (Austria Power Grid AG)
- Moderation: Martin Weinand, Strategie Austria
PLEASE NOTE YOU:At this learning breakfast we wanted to create a little extra excitement and chose a particularly crisis-proof location - a high-security area. A shuttle bus service is provided for everyone who does not arrive by car.
