“How to Get Out of the Crypt” si klade za cíl spojit vícero autorů*ek, jejichž společným znakem je kromě estetického a formálního hlediska také symbolická významovost v podobě kryptických – zakódovaných metafor.

“How to Get Out of the Crypt” aims to bring together multiple artists whose work is connected not only through aesthetic and formal qualities, but also through symbolic significance in the form of cryptic — encoded — metaphors. The artworks, spread across the media of painting and installation, urge the viewer not only to think critically or reconsider their perspective on the surrounding world, but also to evoke an immersive feeling of a metaphorical crypt — one that offers a potential means of escape. However, a certain “skill” of self-reflection is required. Just as the artist seeks out their own language — taking on a personal challenge — the same demand is placed on the viewer. Is this the way we communicate in complex ways today: through gamification, escape rooms, or politically engaged memes?
