As the subtitle of the event Games of Ancient Tastes suggests, history awaits you at Strečno Castle, which you can not only get to know, but also taste. Travel with us through the centuries and discover the secrets of four period cuisines prepared by the Terra de Selinan Guild and the Wagus historical swordsman group.
Take a culinary journey from ancient Rome to the period of the Thirty Years' War. You will taste dishes inspired by Roman cuisine full of exotic smells and tastes, you will get to know two forms of medieval dining from the 14th and 15th centuries - simple dishes of the common people and selected dishes of the nobility, scented with rare saffron, which was not missing from royal tables. The atmosphere of a field kitchen from the period of the Thirty Years' War is completed by a roasting piglet.
There will also be traditional bread kvass, wines made from quince and other traditional fruits, or honest craft beer. Lovers of oriental flavors will be delighted by the Ottoman teahouse. The atmosphere will be complemented by shooting from a light field cannon performed by KVH Turiec.
