Hrdý Budžes

The heroine of the story, Helenka Součková, a student in the second grade of a nine-year-old elementary school, guides us suggestively through the tragicomic years of Husák's normalization as it was projected into the world of children and adults in the early 1970s. Against the backdrop of the school and theater environment in an "unnamed" district town, a sequence of comic events, embarrassing experiences, minor and major misfortunes unfolds, which little Helenka not only experiences, but at the same time evaluates and comments on with the immediacy of her age.
< br/>Barbora Hrzánová won the THÁLIE award for outstanding female stage performance in 2003 for the role of Helenka Součková.
