About event
Dorota Matejová, a young Slovak artist living in Rotterdam, comes to the Slovak National Gallery with her latest project 2 DOMOVY : 2 HOMES, which consists of compositions for traverso (baroque flute) in various combinations with voice, singing and electronics.
The central theme is – as the name suggests – home in its broadest sense; home as a place, feeling, impression, sound, song, idea or symbol. These abstract and concrete layers of meaning of the home were gradually transformed and materialized in a series of compositions that were created in close cooperation between the author of the main idea and the interpreter of the project with the creators of its individual parts.
Compared to the world premiere in Banská Bystrica as part of the project (NOVÁ ) MUSIC AT A CROSSROADS in April of this year, its Bratislava presentation will be enriched with several new elements, so that even this version could somewhat aspire to was considered a kind of (second) premiere.
🎼 The concert series HUDBA DNEŠKA V SNG is realized by SNG in the dramaturgy of Daniel Matej in cooperation with InMusic, Fr. z., VENI ensemble and with the Slovak section of ISCM, which was supported by the Bratislava City Foundation, the Bratislava Self-governing Region - the best place for life. With a financial contribution from the Music Fund. With the support of SOZA.
