About event
Did the people of Prague understand Mozart or Janáček better?
Was Antonín Rejcha Czech or French?
Is Kabeláč among Czech composers, whose music was not allowed to be played on Czech stages?
Seemingly simple questions hide many variants of answers. One of them is a program of compositions for wind ensemble.
The authors of all the compositions on the program have a specific connection to the Czech environment: they were born in it, ran away from it, experienced great success in the Czech Republic, struggles for recognition and bullying. However, all of them - each in their own way - wrote beautiful music. The great classics Mozart and Rejcha, the youthful eccentric beyond the grave Janáček, and the persecuted conservative modernist Kabeláč. Their music will fill the living room in Žižkov's Atrium until the last breath.
Program:
● A. Mozart – Divertimento No. 1 from KV 439b
● Miloslav Kabeláč – Wind Sextet Op. 8
● Anton Rejcha – Wind Sextet in E Flat Major, Op. 88.2
● Leoš Janáček – Youth Wind Sextet
Tickets on sale soon!
● entrance fee CZK 400, seniors and ZTP/P CZK 300 ● 90 min ● organized by Serious Interest and Atrium Žižkov
