Humana Taranja
In this world of certainties, it's delicious when you still don't know exactly what you want to be. Humana Taranja embodies this now, whether due to the age of its five members, or due to the moment they are in their career, a second full-length, a year after the first (“Zafira”, 2023), which was born after a few years of life on stage and EPs. Composed of Guilherme Firmino (guitar and vocals), David Yala (guitar), Filipa da Silva Pina (keyboard and vocals), Marta Winter (bass) and Afonso Ferreira (drums), Humana Taranja sounds like several things and, while it sounds like These things also fluctuate between genres, be it emotional and youthful rock or indie pop with feverish touches.
It's all part of age, the freedom of still being able to decide what you want – and how you want to do it – without fear of the stranger. Humana Tananja's rock is unexpected, it moves with that disproportionate load of emotions of adolescence, that even though these years have already passed, “EUDAEMONIA”, the album they released in October 2024 and which they will present at Zé dos Bois, is the releasing an accumulation of years. These are ideas that are trapped in you, in the incredible feeling that this is all being naive, but that it has to be like that, because being is a process and it is one that you have to show, especially when you want to take these instruments and do music like that. There is something here that is permanently burning and that demands that it not be put out, because only then can we experience the fullness of this state. Humana Tananja knows that all of this is temporary, that this kind of trip therapy that this album is is a time-limited passage. And they are making the most of this time, with lyrics that declare this existence and a mix of voices that often highlights the contrasts of all these sensations. They know this is temporary, so do we, because now doesn't happen again. This is a beautiful stage for a band like this. AS
multivalent
multivalent serves us psychedelic electronic punk – through the sound of voluptuous guitars, electronic drums and synth bass. The artist transmits an intense and unfiltered message where the lyrics address, to the sound of his voice, political and personal reflections, the result of a constant and long process of self-deconstruction.
