People who survived the Holocaust still live among us and we can hear their story with our own ears, meet them, perceive them live and feel their experience. In an interview with Dagmar Mozolova, survivor Denisa Nikodémová will tell her story, in the film we will meet Zuzana Dermeková, and in the evening musicians Katka Koščová and Daniel Špiner will accompany us with their songs. , which was prepared by Dagmar Mozolová for 10 years and for which she also won the Crystal Wing. She began recording the stories of survivors and rescuers on camera, and in 2019, a month before her death, she also visited 96-year-old Zuzana Dermeková, who, as a young single woman, saved a two-year-old girl during the war. We will show the 26-minute film Mamička as part of the evening.
Doc. Denisa Nikodémová with her sister Vierka and her parents survived 21 months hiding in the mountains. Then their paths tragically diverged. Father Aurel Rosental was dragged to a concentration camp, their mother Marta to prison, where she was later murdered. Mrs. Pellerová from Spišská Nová Ves took Vierka and Deniska to her home. Thanks to her sacrifice and courage, they were both saved and reunited with their father after the war, who survived the horrors of the death camp. She became a successful woman and even today, at an advanced age, teaches at the Slovak Medical University.
