About event

Free workshop for more calmness and safety when dealing with dogs - for adults and children

Whether on a walk in the park or on the way to school - encounters with Dogs are part of many people's everyday lives. Not everyone feels comfortable: some react with uncertainty or even fear. To counteract this, the think SI3 park management, in collaboration with the Pankow district office, Grün Berlin, the Friends of Mauerpark e.V. and the certified dog trainer Anni Schmidt, is offering a practical workshop that imparts knowledge, understanding and safety in dealing with dogs.

The workshop "Learn to understand dogs - safe and calm during outdoor encounters" is aimed at both adults and children who would like to learn more about the language of Want to learn dogs. The aim is to show how dogs communicate, what body signals they send and how people can react calmly and confidently in typical everyday situations.

Contents of the workshop

  • Understanding dogs - theory & body language: How do dogs show their mood? Using pictures, participants learn to correctly classify dog behavior.
  • Self-assurance through body language: Small physical exercises help to radiate calm and clarity - a key to safe encounters.
  • What to do if a dog runs towards me? Practical strategies provide options for action in everyday life.

The workshop does not involve direct dog contact and is therefore particularly suitable for people who have previously felt unsafe around dogs.
