About event
Under the curatorial evening of the Starry Nights and String Series collective, we will have an audience evening dedicated to bagpipes in Rómer's house. Drone master Harry Górski-Brown will bring his specific perspective on folklore from Scotland. The evening will be opened by bagpiper Mário Pavel from Veľké Zálužie, who specializes in detailed imitations of old bagpipe masters.

Scottish musician Harry Górski-Brown approaches traditional Gaelic music with great curiosity and reinterprets traditional songs of island music in his own way. The main instrument that accompanies him on this journey is the bagpipes, with which he will also perform in Rómer's house. On his current album "Durt Dronemaker After Dreamboats" he works with massive drones, which, in addition to bagpipes, he constructs using violins, electronics, organ and bouzouki. All this along with modulated singing in Gaelic.
Harry will visit Central Europe for the first time ever (if we don't count Unsound) and present his unique view of island folklore to the local audience. Under his creative influence, traditional sounds and melodies take on new, grotesque but also dark corners. Harry intertwines the motifs of traditional music with everyday problems of today, despite this, almost no one understands him. But you don't need to speak Gaelic to feel the strong emotion of his compositions. The drone magician from Scotland will arrive in Bratislava on November 23. We start traditionally. At 17:00.

Mário Pavel used his bagpipe playing talent since childhood environment of several competitions. He specializes in detailed imitations of the old bagpipe masters. In Rómer's house, he will play according to the recordings of the bagpiper Jozef Antalík (1898-1989) on his four-part bagpipes. Songs from Veľké Zálužie and the surrounding area will be heard.
