About event
Ondřej Macl sends the world a new collection of short stories, Once in a Blue Moon. Volunteer drag, digging into family history and scenic reading included.
Book summary: A passionate night on a boat, coming of age, experiences from studies and stays abroad, first and especially second loves, living with a cat, dressing up as an ancient demigod or a trip to my grandmother's grave in Slovakia. Ondřej Macl shows in the book that anything can happen to him as a subject for a short story. More important than the initial events themselves is how he approaches them with unmistakable tenderness and playfulness.
The Paradox publishing house cordially invites you to the stage presentation of the short story book with the participation of editor Kryštof Eder and part of the Macl family.
Ondřej Macl (* 1989) is a Czech writer*, performer, editorx Revue Prostor, the author of hybrid books from the experimental collage I love my grandmother more than young girls (2017) to the remix collection Hrajte even dál (2025). He occasionally translates (Oscar Wilde, Roland Barthes), also makes a living by doing social work, and is preparing to publish a monograph about the Czech Sea in Karolin.
Literary evenings in the dramaturgy of the editors of the Prostor review in the HYB4 Reading Room are realized with the financial support of hl. City of Prague, the Ministry of Culture and the State Culture Fund of the Czech Republic.
This event takes place within the PERSPECTIVES project - a new brand for independent, constructive, multi-perspective and transnational journalism perspectives-media.eu. Co-financed by the European Union.
