Birth,
Death, breath.
HYPERVENTILATOR
is a dance concert for several performers, a Paetzold double bass recorder and air bodies - connected by the medium of air.
.
Air
surrounds us - it is an omnipresent and vital element. Their power can start fires and hurricanes. It influences the climate and drives the circulation of the planet. But most of the time, air remains unnoticeable. It requires careful listening and a level of mindfulness to perceive the invisible medium. Especially in a time when we sometimes ask ourselves:
Do we still hear
and perceive each other?
.
Air body and Paetzold double bass recorder are connected to each other via hoses and form a sound installation in which the flute is directly influenced by the air pressure of the air body and can thus be played through external movements. All pre-recorded sounds come directly from the air mattresses and tubes, creating a subtle and atmospheric sound world. The breath remains audible - we experience a concert of our own breath throughout our lives - starting with the first and ending with the last breath
.
As a collaborative organism, zone[27] has been functioning as a transdisciplinary art collective since 2021. Founded by Alba Glatz, Sophie Renger and Su Huber, the collective is currently collaborating with Phoebe Wong and KilometroCero. The individual and collaborative practices include performance, music, choreography, dance, and light and sound design. With a focus on interbody processes and listening as a practice, zone[27] creates multisensory spaces, performances and interventions. Together, the artists share a fascination for relationships, improvisation, presence and cross-media exchange.
.
HYPERVENTILATOR - the collective's most recent work was shown for the first time in June 2024 at the Zentralwascherei Zurich (CH), with further performances in Vienna (AT) and Bern (CH).

METASTASIS
Metastasis is an electro-acoustic, ambient, freely improvised noise music project founded in 2017 by Kuji Davituliani (electronics), Nasi Chavchavadze (cello) and Alexander Khokhiashvili (drums) was founded during the anti-government demonstrations in Tbilisi, Georgia. The collective is inspired by the electronic music scene of the 50s and 60s.
.
The band was part of the “White Noise” civil movement, which campaigned against Georgia's brutal drug policy. Metastasis began with improvised performances during demonstrations and soon developed into a full-fledged musical project. Since then, Metastasis has become a significant part of the experimental music scene in Tbilisi.
