About event

At the beginning of June, our reading room will be visited by an exceptional poet, literary scientist and pedagogue Zuzana Husárová. During the evening he will present his new book called Hypomnemata, which was published by Brak. The result of many years of work and cooperation with several artists is more than just a book - it is an object of poetic interest.

Hypomnemata is an experimental book of live poetic objects and has been created during the last 10 years, when the world and the author itself changed. Poetry is composed as an assembly from experienced individual and collective events, resonating interviews, restricted sentences, subtracted inscriptions and texts that draw on philosophy, feminist and media discourse, as well as related authors. The collection is penetrated by echoes of sound poetry, performance and multilingualism. The texts carry distinctive social -critical and feminist overlaps, while at the same time mirror an intimate view of the world, where everything is related, intertwined, affects, inspires and resonates. The text component is corresponding to the three -dimensional visuality of the recognized artist Lucie Tallová. Her works are not only an accessory, but a living part of the book - illustrate, comment and develop poetic strata. The graphic form was created in close collaboration with the award -winning designers Aurélia Garová and Tereza Maco and is thoughtfully built on the principle (de) gradation of purple color.

Zuzana Husárová is the author and theorist of electronic literature and digital media, and also creates experimental and sound poetry and poetic performance. She acts as an associate professor at the Digital Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, externally and on the theory of interactive media in Brno, he is a responsible editor of the Glosolália family magazine and vocalist in the Vrg Group. Published poetic books Liminal, Lucent, Amoeba, Hyper (bilingual Slovak-German), hypomnemata and book poetry of the neural network Liza Gennart (Golden Wave, 2021), co-applied for two theoretical publications on electronic literature, how Fulbright Scholar worked on MIT. Her projects were exhibited and performed in Paris, London, Berlin, Vienna, Krakow, Boston and elsewhere. With Karel Piorecký, she published the theoretical book The Culture of Neural Networks: Synthetic Literature and Art In (Not Only) The Czech and Slovak Context.
