We visit the newly opened Hotel Palais Chotek and have a look at the successful architecture, including the state rooms photograph.

Built as a city palace for Count Otto Chotek from Bohemia between 1871 and 1874 in the Renaissance style, the house was rented in 1896 to the furniture manufacturer Friedrich Otto Schmidt, who worked with Adolf Loos, among others, who took over the building in 1904. After the sale in 2016, the factory halls built behind the building were demolished to make room for the modern extension of the hotel now located there, which is operated by EST Hotels & Residences, whose rooms look out into the gardens of the inner courtyards or on the roof terraces provide a view of Vienna.

The bell floor with a magnificent wooden coffered ceiling, the impressive historic marble staircase and the large fireplace made of black marble in the largely listed street wing were preserved, Restored true to the original and now shine in new splendor. Striking details such as the hand-crafted box locks complete the elegant impression and combine harmoniously with modern elements.

From the former aristocratic residence and meeting place of Viennese society to the headquarters of a renowned furniture maker to a luxury hotel in Vienna Alsergrund - an eventful history with tradition.

We will be visiting the newly opened Hotel Palais Chotek, where we will have the opportunity to explore and photograph its remarkable architecture, including the magnificent state rooms.

Built between 1871 and 1874 as a city palace for Count Otto Chotek of Bohemia in the Renaissance style, the building was leased in 1896 to the furniture manufacturer Friedrich Otto Schmidt, whose company collaborated with Adolf Loos among others. The company acquired the property in 1904. Following its sale in 2016, the workshop buildings behind the palace were demolished to make way for the modern extension of the hotel now operated by EST Hotels & Residences. Guest rooms overlook the courtyard gardens or offer panoramic views across Vienna from the rooftop terraces.

The bel étage with its magnificent coffered wooden ceiling, the impressive historic marble staircase, and the large black marble fireplace in the largely protected street-facing wing have been preserved, meticulously restored, and now shine in renewed splendor. Distinctive details such as handcrafted mortise locks complement the elegant atmosphere and blend harmoniously with contemporary design elements.

From an aristocratic residence and gathering place of Viennese high society, to the headquarters of a renowned furniture maker, and now a luxury hotel in Vienna's Alsergrund district, Palais Chotek reflects a rich history shaped by tradition and transformation.
