"Give him a gun and he's Superman. Give him two and he's God". On the big screen, you can enjoy the legend of legends, not just "one of the best and most essential action films of all time", but clearly the one absolute best in the world. There are dozens of corpses of gangsters, emotions, pathos and coolness are flowing here, and Chow Yun-Fat has definitely become an acting icon. And John Woo asked for an invitation to Hollywood.
An uncompromising cop named Tequilla sets out to eliminate a gang of arms dealers and discovers that not all of his opponents are who they seem.
Hard Boiled may not be as emotionally charged as the director's Killer or A Better Tomorrow, but as a pure action spectacle it is flawless, brutal, thrilling and revolutionary. Here, Woo fine-tuned his bloody ballet and inspired a whole generation of filmmakers who tried to imitate his aesthetically perfect shootouts. However, this is the original that reminded the world that Hong Kong can do action even better than Hollywood, because they are not afraid to do things differently, and that few things on the screen look as cool as firing two guns at once.
