About event
Improv as a moral institution - improvising on difficult topics
Since ancient times, the theater has been the place where fate is negotiated with the gods. The great dramas of history are put on the stage and you watch as the characters struggle with each other in blood, sweat and tears.
In the workshop “Improv as a moral institution” we will try out ways to bring the seriousness of theater into the lightness of improvisation. Using means developed by playwrights such as Bertolt Brecht or Heiner Müller, current and critical topics can be dealt with in improvised pieces. To do this, we research the resources that offer us the knowledge to act on such topics on stage. We learn which structures can be used to tell multifaceted stories. We deal with tools to intercept critical moments in a performance and make them usable.
A workshop for experienced and courageous improvisers - and yes, working on the “difficult” topics will still be fun.
