About event
🎬 We invite you to the lecture "I am much more theater than the filmmaker" who will bring the life and work of Ingmar Bergman. Although he perceived himself in particular as a theater, his film work has fundamentally influenced the development of artistic film. Bergman's works are still fascinated by the philosophical overlap, the psychological depth and the intimate force of the testimony. 🎭
🎞 After the lecture we will screen the Seventh Seal (1957), which is one of his most famous - it is existential meditation about faith, death and searching for meaning. Knight Antonius Block, tired of the years spent on the Cross, returns to his homeland just to find the region devastated by the sea. His symbolic encounter with death and a bunch of chess for life open up space for fundamental questions about the silent God, faith and possibilities of hope in the time of the apocalypse.
