About event
INTER ARMA (Sludge/Black Metal, USA)
For nearly two decades, Inter Arma has stood out as one of the most inspired and fearless bands in American metal.
< br/>New Heaven, Inter Arma's sixth album and their first set of originals in five years, is a compelling testament to perseverance, top to bottom. Inter Arma presents a sound with a dense layer of doom, death and black metal, but which sometimes lets in the light. Mike Paparo's vivid and empathetic lyrics about the innocent victims of war, drug addiction and social apathy affirm this feeling of the grimacing survivor who, leaving the carnage behind, moves forward as best he can.
With the exception of 2020 cover set Garbers Days Revisited, every Inter Arma album since Sky Burial has hovered over the one-hour mark. New Heaven's runtime of 42 minutes shouldn't necessarily be seen as a lack of ideas or ambition. New Heaven functions more like an intricate obsidian flower, with musical moments that Inter Arma would once have let unfold in long digressions tucked into the corners, small details left to the diligent believer.
+ PILORI (Black metal / death metal, Rouen)
Pilori was born in Rouen (Normandy) and delivers extreme music with multiple influences. Indeed, without ever setting any barriers, the group draws its inspiration from crust, black metal and grind, but also leans very strongly towards death metal and chaotic hardcore.
Pilori begins to play live in early 2016, and since then have performed nearly 150 concerts across 20 countries, and shared the stage with bands like Full of Hell, Cult Leader, Nostromo, Wormrot, Birds in Row, Sumac, Primitive Man, Oathbreaker, Coilguns, Unleashed, The Body, Fange, Implore, Blockheads, Benighted, Harm Done, Worst Doubt, Plebeian Grandstand, Whoresnation, Ancst, Travolta, Cowards, Wolfpack, Comity, Revulsion, Bas Rotten, Primal Age, Gummo, Lazare, Bain de Blood, etc...
In June 2022, they are notably on the bill at Hellfest Open Air (Clisson).
After a demo in 2016 released on cassette, then a split vinyl 7" with the American group Dakhma in 2018, Pilori released its first album in June 2020: "À Nos Morts".
At the start of the 2022 school year, the Normandy combo returns with a new opus: "Quand Bien Meilleur L'Enfer and the Flood would fall on us. It is released via co-production between several labels around the world,
and distributed by Deathwish Inc. and Season of Mist.
