About event
"It takes a city to raise a child" is a surprising (audio) performance in playgrounds for adults about parenting and growing up in the city. Stories are hiding behind every parent or educator and child that you can't see by someone's face. If you look around in the playground, to the children who play and the parents who sit on a bench; Do you ever wonder what choices they make? Can they be the parents who want to be? What do they miss? Do they know how to find the right words or response? What do they do if that doesn't work?
You get headphones and listen to voices that seduce you to look at who is in the playground and what happens. All parents and children with different backgrounds, values and dreams come together on a playground or schoolyard.
The children play together, the parents do not. Is parenting an individual affair? Because sometimes parenting can also feel lonely. How can we share the dilemmas and struggles more such as parents, educators, neighbors and schools or talk about them? And how do we as the environment take care of the children (and the parents) of the city?
You will be included in honest, recognizable funny and moving situations of parents and educators from the city.
with music and songs by Miriam van Dijk!
