About event

According to the Multnomah County Joint Office of Homeless Services data dashboard, 43% of people experiencing homelessness report they are women, transgender, or have no single gender identity.

Join City Club’s Health and Public Safety Issue Committee for a community conversation about homeless services and strategies tailored to the needs and experiences of women, with a focus on reducing the risk of gender-based violence.

The program will feature Robin Miller, an advocate and lived experience expert; Katie O’Brien, executive director of Rose Haven; Emmy Ritter, executive director of Raphael House; and Scott Kerman, executive director of Blanchet House, who will each offer an overview of their work, followed by an audience Q&A.

This event is part of the It Takes a Village series, which brings together organizations working to address housing and homelessness to share their approaches, perspectives, and coordination strategies for serving people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Admission is free and open to all, but please register to help Kells plan for our group size.
