Director Amy Berg's film follows the life of Jeff Buckley, a rising young star with an otherworldly voice that died suddenly shortly after the release of his debut album Grace. This album also featured Leonard Cohen's song Hallelujah, which ˗ as you learned two years ago in the excellent documentary Hallelujah: Leonard Cohen, a Journey, a Song ˗ is one of the most recognized versions of this song

In 1997, Buckley tragically drowned in the Wolf River in Memphis, leaving behind an unfinished second album and a host of devastated friends and fans. Oscar-nominated director Amy Berg got Buckley's mother's consent to film and with it access to the archival materials she manages after her son's death. At first, she considered a feature film, but after listening to the singer's demo recordings, voicemails to her mother and reading his diaries, she decided to make a documentary. She supplemented these materials with previously unpublished images and intimate statements of three women in Buckley's life, namely his mother Mary Guibert and his two partners - the artist Rebecca Moore and the musician Joan Wasser. Their statements bring intimacy to the film and illuminate its creative spark and inner life. The image of the talented artist is completed by former band members Michael Tighe and Parker Kindred, as well as friends and important personalities such as Ben Harper and Aimee Mann. The film It's Never Over, Jeff Buckley had its world premiere at the Sundance festival and will be shown in the Slovak premiere.
