Ivan Stodola / Čaj u pána senátora (22. repríza v SND)

Ivan Stodola's play Tea at the Senator's takes place (almost) a hundred years ago and captures the first beginnings of democracy in our territory. Since democracy was something unknown to the Slovak people, it took some time for newly minted citizens to learn to navigate the hitherto unknown institution. This is also why we can notice in the behavior of the political representatives of that time ailments that do not belong to a developed society and today are considered to have been overcome a long time ago. However, we don't need to judge our ancestors too harshly - after all, they didn't have decades of experience behind them, thanks to which they could be such proud statesmen as they stand at the head of our country today. Therefore, let's look into the past at happy and less happy moments, so that we can better appreciate the development that our society has gone through in these almost one hundred years. Nerečová
