Diary of composer Tom America:
“On November 12, 2023 I call my friend, visual artist Paul Bogaers. He tells me that he has become stuck in his work. And that he therefore wants to stop as an artist. He no longer has any plans at all. Going to his studio mainly gives him a feeling of disgust. The next day I call Paul again. I explain to him that I see his situation as a universal case and ask if I should investigate this. Paul immediately agrees.”
The process that started then led to about 7 compositions. These are based on the voice of the “stuck” artist, Paul Bogaers. Later, voices from Joost Conijn and Jos Houweling were added.
On October 9, author and former photographer Hans Aarsman will talk to Paul and Tom. Then compositions from the CD “yes I'm stuck” by Tom America. The CD is published by the Excelsior label.
