About event
🌊 The Danube River significantly influenced and influences the surrounding landscape and the fate of us, the people living by the river. It is part of the life of the people of Bratislava, although many of us only notice it when it comes to our streets and houses, similar to the autumn floods.
🗓️ On Saturday, October 26, we will go to the Danube. Together with Katarína Holubová, a researcher in the field of river morphology, and Martina Paulíková, an ecologist from WWF Slovakia, we will find out how the river changed in ancient and recent times, how it transformed the landscape and how we transformed it. We will examine its current state, identify current threats and problems, and discuss what measures are being taken to restore the river and the surrounding river landscape. And maybe we'll even touch the river.
The commented walk takes place as an accompanying event to the screening of the film 🎬 I am the river, the river is me. You can watch it at the Lumiér cinema as part of the One World festival at 2 p.m., and after it's over, we'll move to the waterfront together.
