Jakub Tajovský's exhibition entitled Disruption Of The Loop develops his long-term interest in expanding the possibilities of painting and pushing the boundaries of visuality and imagination. Tajovský understands painting as an ideal platform for exploring imagination, which according to him is not only the result of human fantasy, but is formed in an equal dialogue between the artist, material, technology and other socio-cultural influences entering the painting process. The concept of painting as an open apparatus, formed in the spirit of new materialism by human and non-human actors, led Tajovský to experiments in the field of painting technology. At the beginning was the development of GLUP's own painting material, whose physical properties make classic brush work impossible. In cooperation with PrusaLab, Tajovský therefore developed an author's robotic tool called Malbot, which allowed him to replace the gesture of a human hand. In Tajovský's painting installations, the artist does not act as a supreme source of imagination, but rather as a moderator of the painting process, who sets certain conditions within which a new synthetic type of imagination is formed thanks to simple mechanisms and the action of natural physical phenomena.
Exhibition in the Pitevna Gallery was created as the final output of Jakub Tajovský's doctoral research, focused on the innovation of the "design" of painting, at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the BUT in Brno.
