Jamming: "Under the Bark" (April 26, 2025, 2-5 PM)
Have you ever seen a bark beetle larva or another insect at work? You’ve probably only heard them—the faint gnawing of the inner bark, a hidden process unfolding out of sight. Time will reveal their work when the bark peels away, exposing intricate trails that resemble perfect drawings, unknown scripts, or mysterious maps waiting to be deciphered.
What if we tried to imitate this hidden, intuitive creation?
In the Under the Bark workshop, we will create a collective artwork inspired by nature and its subtle artists. Using the monotype printmaking technique, we will explore layers and textures on a large shared surface with various tools and colors.
Come lose yourself beneath the bark and then let the light of Barvolam uncover our “invisible” work.
The workshop will be led by Leona Krlínová, a student at UMPRUM, who specializes in painting and drawing and is currently exploring textile art in her diploma project.

The Jamming – Painting without Barriers workshops bring together people from a wide range of social groups and let them make art freely and without prejudices. Everyone is welcome who is interested in exploring what it’s like to paint together on one canvas.
Workshop duration: 3 to 4 hours
Price: CZK 300 / students CZK 200 / seniors, TP, ZTP, ZTP/P card holders CZK 100 / children under 12 years old FREE / all those who want to support Barvolam: CZK 500 or any higher amount

Studio Barvolam is barrier-free.
Unless stated otherwise, the workshops are intended primarily for adults, although this does not mean that your children are not welcome.
