Ján Skaličan - Deep Rest
Duration: 14.8.2025, 16:00 - 20:00 Hod. Site-specific situation in the city-Prüger-Wallner garden. There is a variable platform, a place of possible meeting at a specific location. It provides the possibility of passive participation, the necessary rest but also the space for activity, action and (together) work. The viewing has the opportunity to spend time in a place that is open for interdisciplinarity and other content inputs with an emphasis on mutual respect, equality and connection in one whole. Instead of self-presentation, the situation offers space for common silence.
Installation is a direct continuation of the author's interest in investigative approaches in contemporary art. The recording of specific places and sites was interrupted by an introspective return in the broader context of a quiet monologue.
Reproduction of reality, creating a crisis recording becomes irrelevant, the planet represents itself. More important is our non -analytropocentric view of these (us) created traces, images /and the consequences of our (in) activity. In the context of the interconnected topics of collapse and the ideas of possible interculfate justice, there is a space for the necessary dialogue. Through the creation of a site-specific situation, the work calls on viewing, to confront the urgent crises of our time.
The situation calls on participation to re-imagine inter-eruptive relationships, which can ultimately encourage critical dialogue and inspire collective activity. Thus, the author continues to consider the possible activation of the company using alternative education procedures with the need to develop more collective, socially and politically conscious artistic practice.
