We invite you to the presentation of Jana Cigániková's book Bernardín and other women on Wednesday, November 26. from 18:00 to Košice Artfor on Hlavná ul. 87
The evening will be moderated by the literary scholar Marta Součková.
Jana Cigániková's mature book debut is characterized by a distinctive authorial gesture, which ruthlessly and yet magically draws to the bottom of seemingly mundane stories about women, about different forms of motherhood, about families, youth and old age, or about intergenerational relationships.
combines imagination, realism and the unreal. The de-tabooed thinking and experience of the characters indirectly exposes us to the test of self-reflection. Accepting any standardized concept of normality means not openly expressing what one is secretly thinking about, even to oneself. The publication of Jana Cigániková's debut book Bernardín and other women was preceded by many years of writing and almost ten years of experience with various literary competitions. She received numerous awards and support for her work from the expert jury.
The event is organized together with the ASPEKT publishing house, and as part of the Literary evenings at Artfor, it was supported from public funds by the Art Support Fund.
