Jane Schoenbrun double feature

At three in the morning, you come across a movie on TV that you don't recognize, yet you feel like you must have seen it before. It is this strange, unsettling sense of alienation and closeness that pervades Jane Schoenbrun's work. One of the most remarkable voices in contemporary cinema, with a boundless love for the medium of film itself, creates images in which fan obsession is transformed into a deeply personal statement of identity and desire. Imaginary worlds, filled with melancholy visions and disturbing images, sometimes seem more real than reality itself. They blur the boundaries between memories and the present and show that film can be not only an escape, but also a mirror of our most hidden parts.

Jane Schoenbrun's double feature combines the images TV Enlightenment and S*x and death in Camp Miasma, where the worlds of film and television become refuge, obsession and trap. In her dreams, Jane Schoenbrun opens spaces laced with nostalgia and horror, in which reality dissolves in the glow of the grainy screens of old televisions. Even the strangest fantasy reveals something deeply hidden in us, which we may not have been able to name for a long time.
