During these days, you will be able to discover traditional crafts, visual arts, tea culture and performing arts that combine centuries-old traditions with the creative spirit of the present. 🤗

A performance by 2 artists from Kyoto and performers from the Czech Republic, who will perform 3 original classic Japanese Kyogen plays in a Czech-Japanese bilingual version. The performance will be comprehensible even for the Slovak audience and will introduce the acting techniques of Kyogen, which will be performed by Shigeyama Motohiko (Shigeyama Motohiko). Artists perform in original period Japanese costumes.

Yoh Yasuda Vernissage: Communities Linked by Wind
Through the project Communities Linked by Wind, Japanese artist Yoh Yasuda investigates how people relate to the wind through collaboration and joint creation.
Using natural materials such as bamboo, Japanese washi paper and fabric, she combines traditional craft with new ideas inspired by plant forms and ecological balance. By creating and flying kites as works of art, he questions anthropocentrism and tries to restore harmony with the natural world.

Workshop with Yoh Yasuda
Four-hour workshop of making kites from ecological materials led by artist Yoh Yasuda, who creates kites in Indonesia and Japan. Participants will make their own kite using a set of Japanese washi paper and bamboo, while learning about traditional kite-making techniques and the connection between wind, nature and culture. The capacity of the workshop is limited to 20 participants over the age of 10.

Japanese tea ceremony for three guests given by Akiko Somei Fuhrmann, a certified master of the Japanese tea ceremony. The ceremony is practiced and taught according to the strict rules of the Omotesenke school - one of the three main historical schools of tea art in Japan. Accompanying word and necessary equipment is provided by the Japanese Embassy in Slovakia.

Belgian artist and expert of the French Association of Japanese Gardens, Patricia Deridder, built Yume Japanese Gardens in Arizona, USA, and thus brought a piece of Japanese culture to the arid desert. In Trenčín, he will talk about the meaning and philosophy of Japanese gardens, especially in terms of their peace-making essence.

Presentation by karate masters from Trenčín and the surrounding area who represent Slovakia at world competitions.

A short theater performance was created during the day in cooperation with the renowned Japanese artist Noriyaki Sawa and young participants of the puppetry workshop. Noriyaki Sawa will also give a short introduction to Japanese puppetry.

Hiroaki Umeda actively performs on stages all over the world, especially in Europe and Japan. His work spans a wide range of fields, from dance to music, technology and art.
The work "while going to a condition" had its European premiere in 2002 after winning the right to perform at the international choreographic festival Rencontres Chorégraphiques Internationales de Seine-Saint-Denis (formerly known as the Bagnolet International Choreographic Festival), bringing Umeda immediately to the attention of the world's dance community. communities.
By connecting light, sound, image and all elements of the body into a hybrid performance, it brings to life on stage an "image in a specific energy stage" and fills the audience with various physical states that are constantly transforming.
