Jaroslav Seifert: znovuzrození po 125 letech

On the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the birth of Jaroslav Seifert (this falls on 23 September, the year 2026 is also the 40th anniversary of Seifert's death, on 10 January), he will commemorate the Czechoslovak Nobel laureate on September 19 at the Parnas cafe with his work and translation, which characterizes his direction: poetic avant-garde (Na vlnách TSF, reworked as Svatební cesta), satirical and ironic works published in social-democratic publications (Sung to a spinning wheel), tributes to Czech painters and poets (Ruka a plamen) and translations of love folk songs (Love in songs from around the world, created with the collaboration of Pavel Eisner, whose name could not be published during the Nazi occupation). Poems will be read by actress Kateřina Coufalová, musically accompanied by Ljubov Plavska in Persian and Eastern European music, Aida Mujačić Balkan music. Hosted by Pavel Straka
