Jason Palmer is considered one of the defining voices of contemporary jazz trumpet. He has made a name for himself internationally with his distinctive blend of technical brilliance, lyrical depth and stylistic versatility. In addition to over forty recordings as a sideman, he released thirteen highly acclaimed albums under his own name, which prove him to be both an innovative composer and a charismatic bandleader. Palmer has worked with an impressive list of jazz greats, including Roy Haynes, Herbie Hancock, Wynton Marsalis, the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Ravi Coltrane, Jeff Ballard, Lee Konitz, Phil Woods, Common, Roy Hargrove and Lewis Nash. Mark Turner is one of the most influential saxophonists of today. Turner, now based in New York, studied at the renowned Berklee College of Music, where he attracted attention early on. Since the early 1990s he has been part of the illustrious circle of the most influential jazz musicians of our time and has played with Jimmy Smith, Brad Mehldau, Joshua Redman, Brian Blade and many other stars of the scene. His crystal-clear articulation, his impressive range and his complex rhythmic and harmonic material make his sound unmistakable.
The London-based American bassist Michael Janisch has established himself as a driving force on the European jazz scene. He is the founder of the Whirlwind Recordings label, which has received great international attention. As a bandleader and sideman, he has worked with musicians such as Joe Lovano, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Dave Douglas, John Taylor, Mark Turner, Clarence Penn and Greg Osby. Janisch is known for his powerful, energetic tone and versatility, which makes him one of the most sought-after bassists in Europe.
Ziv Ravitz – drums, born in Beer-Sheva (Israel) in 1976, began making music at the age of 9 with a focus on drums. In the summer of 2000 he moved to the USA to expand his skills and graduated from the Berkelee School of Music in 2004 with a degree in jazz composition. Regular performances with Lee Konitz, Avishai Kohen, Yaron Herman Trio. Toured regularly around the world and played with musicians such as Hal Crook, Joel Frahm, Joe Lovano, Tomasz Stanko, Ralph Alessi, George Garzone, Ben Monder, Aaron Goldberg, Aaron Parks and Esperanza Spalding. Today Ziv lives in New York City, is one of the most sought-after drummers there and is an important force in the Israeli jazz movement.
