Normalization, 90s, darkness, autocracy… How to speak clearly about the extraordinarily destructive nature of the current management of the culture department, while avoiding inaccurate terms, ends and parallels? Open culture! Since its inception, she has been looking for a way to name, save and explain the steps of the current leadership of the Ministry of Culture. In addition, the creation of solidarity with those whose changes has been most affected, or exposed to attacks by the department, has also been part of her practice. This presentation will focus on language practices that generate an analysis of events in Slovak culture as a specific historical situation, but also on the importance of the language as an irregular process that can be directed from the words telling the actions of others. Presenters will share their experience from creating open culture texts! But the practice of other protests in Slovakia and abroad will also affect. They will also describe the importance of gender -inclusive language in the protest movement, the pitfalls of metaphors and historical parallels, and concrete decisions in the creation of open culture campaigns!

Katarína Mišíková
Katarína Mišíková is a film theorist and associate professor at the Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. In academic work, he focuses on contemporary film theories, contemporary Slovak film and issues of realism and cooperates with several domestic and foreign magazines. She is a lecturer of the Lumière Cinema Cabinet. Except for activities in open culture! is engaged in the Committee of Cultural Strike.

Dominika Moravčíková
Dominika Moravčíková is a literary author and curator from Strečno. She studied musicology at Charles University in Prague, where she continues her doctoral studies. Since 2024 she has been the editorial office of the Artalk portal and a member of the open culture!. He lives in Košice, where he works in Tabačka Kulturfabrik and cinema smile.

Júlia Vrábľová
Júlia Vrábľová works as a researcher at the Linguistic Institute of Ľudovít Štúr SAS and the advisor for education and integration of foreigners at the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth. As a representative of the Slovak Republic in the European Federation of National Linguistic Institutions, she focuses on language policy and relationship between language, power and ideology, and is particularly devoted to language justice, including the management of a clear language. She was a member of several research teams focused on ideology, misinformation, multilingvism and a clear language in the strategic communication of the state. She worked as a research and pedagogical assistant in the center of Slovak as a foreign language at the Faculty of Arts of Comenius University in Bratislava.

AS A Representative of the Slovak Republic in the European Federation of National Language Institutions, SHE Focuses on Language Policy and The Relationship Between Language and Power and Ideology in Her Research with Special Interest Is Lingest Justice, Including Plain Language Management. She Has Has Been Part of Several Research Teams Dedicated to Ideology, Desinformation, Multilingualism and Plain Language in Strategic Communication of State. SHE WORKED AS A Research and Teaching Assistant in the Center of Slovak AS a Foreign Language at the Faculty of Arts of Comenius University in Bratislava.
