Jazz On The Roof: Jazz Volunteers

As part of the Jazz On The Roof summer concert series, chamber jazz ensembles will perform on the roof of the Jazz Dock every Saturday, offering a pleasant atmosphere of acoustic jazz, refined solos and summer relaxation. This time, the Sextet Jazz Volunteers will present themselves.

Sextet Jazz Volunteers was created from the long-term collaboration of Martin Jůzel and Filip Kučera. The motive for the creation was on the one hand the love for Cannonball Adderley's music and also the feeling of the absence of this music on the Czech jazz scene. Hard bop with distinct elements of blues and soul "Cannonballa" forms a peculiar line that "JV" decided to follow and develop in their own concept. The repertoire includes not only Adderley's original music, but also his own compositions. Jůzl and Kučera invited musicians active across musical genres who identified with their vision to collaborate.
