german: jazzexzess presents an extraordinary duo: Julia Biłat on the cello & Dudù Kouate on the drums. The Berlin-based cellist, improviser and composer Julia Biłat combines classical, jazz, performance and free music Improvisation. Her cello becomes a resonance body for voice, body and space - sometimes delicate and fragile, sometimes powerful and eruptive.
Dudù Kouate, who lives in Berlin by choice, draws on the sound worlds of West African traditions. Using drums, idiophones and instruments made from recycled materials, he unfolds multifaceted rhythms and stories that artfully interweave nature, culture and his roots. Not a concert in the classic sense - but a journey that sets body and senses in motion in equal measure.

Holding on to Wondertells the story of two artists, Pen and Bee, who enter into a musical dialogue about inspiration, doubt, friendship and the emergence of new ideas. Under the direction of Sembritzki, the orchestra unfolds a sound universe that oscillates between intimacy and exuberance, structure and improvisation, lightness and intensity - as multifaceted as the artist's life itself: full of humor, drama, melancholy and an overwhelming sense of Beauty.
