About event
"When I close my eyes, I see a little girl who runs between the dining tables in the Prague Jewish community. He enthusiastically helps the curly waitress to distribute lunch. She gets smiles and caress from sitting old men. Above the entrance to the dining room, there is a photo of Barbry Streisand, which in Prague in 1983 filmed the film Yentl, where little Peter played in the extras. At home it smells of mum's pancakes and musicians and daddy with Banja everywhere and I dance and sing and I think that I will sing all the time…, ”says singer Petra Ernyei.
Petra Ernyei was born in Prague in Prague , mother of Czech and dad born in England to Hungarian-Slovak parents. She grew up in the musical environment and at the age of 18 she performed her first foreign engagement in the US at the Jazz Festival in California, Sacramento. Her singing journey has so far been jazz (original Prague symopic orchestra, Prague swing orchestra, Petra Ernye Quartet). Meeting with the descendants of the exceptional personality Doris Grozdanovičová, who survived the Holocaust, was essential. Petra was approached to sing a Jewish song at her funeral. There was the idea of dealing with Jewish music more. Petra performed with the program songs by Jewish authors in the Synagogues in the Czech Republic as part of the 10 Stars Project. In June 2023 she sang at the Music Festival in the Jewish Center in Vancouver, Canada. In 2020, Ernyei released a CD called I was dedicated to Jewish authors. There are traditional Hebrew songs, Sefard and Jazz and also a memory of the singer Barbra Streisand. It is accompanied by top musicians - guitarist Adam Tvrdý, bassist Petr Dvorský and accordionist Aliaksandr Yasinski. Excellent musicians, but also good friends. This is characterized by this unique trio of musicians who have already traveled through Europe by a criss -cross. For example, they have a successful tour in Greece and Portugal and concerts on the domestic scene.
