About event
Come and discover the beauty of jazz songs and the way to your own musical expression.
I invite you on an adventurous journey through the world of beautiful jazz songs - songs full of emotions, unforgettable melodies and stories that do not lose their power even after decades. We will delve into the music of the greats of American music, such as George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Richard Rodgers, Oscar Hammerstein II, Harold Arlen and many others.
What awaits you?
Rhythm, swing and jazz phrasing
How to feel the jazz pulse, work with the rhythm and discover the magic of the jazz phrase.
Working with lyrics and pronunciation
How to understand the words of a song and turn them into a real story.
Jazz interpretation
How to give a song its own expression, personality and emotion. How to tell a story hidden in melody and text.
Listening and discovering jazz voices
Together we will listen and analyze recordings of famous jazz singers and singers and look for differences in their unique style - Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Carmen McRae, Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday
Basics of music orientation
Simple basics of music theory, orientation in notes, harmony and structure of jazz songs.
Discovering jazz freedom
The first steps to improvisation, finding your own musical ideas and the courage to express yourself.
It is not about perfection. It is about the joy of singing, the beauty of making music together and discovering one's own voice.
We will end the workshop with a small concert with live music, where each participant will be able to sing a chosen song.
