The choir of the Junges Ensemble Berlin makes the opera choir the main character of the evening and celebrates with the Concertgoers will experience the grandeur of the choir community. Under the direction of Vinzenz Weissenburger and together with the Prussian Chamber Orchestra Prenzlau, the JEB Choir brings the opera stage to the chamber music hall of the Philharmonie Berlin - with works from the most popular operas by Ludwig van Beethoven, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Giuseppe Verdi, Richard Wagner, Georges Bizet and others.
The choirs appear in the actions as commentators, action drivers, emotional mirrors and amplifiers. They often appear as a homogeneous mass not only sonically but also socially: an instrumental body that consists of many individual voices, but speaks with one voice - as a "people", "prisoners" or "noble women".
For the present program, the singers of the JEB have dealt with this "figure of the choir" both personally and collectively. Behind this is the curiosity about the history of choir and choral singing, about dealing with the spirit of the times and storytelling - but above all the joy of making music together. During the concert, the audience's knowledge of opera is tested in a playful way. Afterwards, the choir of the Junges Ensemble Berlin invites you to a joint end to the opera evening.
