Jitka Nesnídalová – Oil Paintings
Galerie U lávky is pleased with Jitka Nesnídalová's exhibition, which sounds joyful and optimistic.
The dominant feature of most of the exhibits is their distinctive colors (blue, green, pink, yellow, black), two paintings are even in colored frames, which optically increase their depth.
The artist lets us peek into childhood memories - Landštejn, Family (an interesting, almost monochromatic play of black and yellow).
He doesn't forget his travel experiences either. Wherever you come to Sicily's Syracuse, the sight of the huge, pyramidal, concrete, pilgrimage church from the late 20th century, the Santuario della Madonna delle Lacrime (Shrine of the Tears of the Virgin Mary), will not leave you alone for a moment. In our gallery you can admire two monumental paintings that artistically process the complete enchantment of the interior of this church and capture the engaging atmosphere of lights and shadows in a completely unique way.
On the other hand, the Kiting and Menton paintings show Jitka Nesnídalová as a typical successor of E. Hopper. I was personally interested in the Menton painting (you know it from our invitation and poster). A truly unconventional, restless memory of an otherwise picturesque town on the French Riviera, but in the spirit of a great teacher.
The exhibition also includes three self-portraits and a tribute to Jož Úprek (Dušičky, Jízda králů), in which the author tried out a new painting technique.
The entire short walk through the U lávky Gallery is interspersed with a bravura game with composition, contours, color, feelings, atmosphere and melancholy. Be welcome. Until November 17.
