About event
The Jivamukti Yoga class presents classical yoga teachings for the modern person, which can be practiced on and off the mat. Each month we draw on the theme of the month essay, which is connected with singing and playing the harmonium (chatning mantras); breath work (pranayama); flowing and thoughtful vinyasa-style sequences; a thematic, carefully selected and pumped playlist; assists in positions; relaxation (savasana) and meditation. All of this is what makes Jivamukti Yoga classes what they are. Deep and at the same time playful with a single goal, to achieve Yoga as a state.
Each lesson includes five important principles on which the Jivamukti Yoga method is based during practice on and off the mat:
1. Ahimsa (non-violence)
2. Bhakti (devotion)
3. Nada (music)
4. Dhyana (meditation)
5. Shastra (ancient philosophical and practical texts)
Whether you are a beginner, confused about the difference between vrkshasana (tree pose) and shirshasana (headstand), or an advanced practitioner who can put both feet behind the scenes, Jivamukti Yoga's open classes welcome you warmly as they are open to practitioners of all levels (and all beings). Even so, students at the beginning level should know that there is not always room in the lessons to explain all the asanas and transitions in great detail; he therefore recommends that students who are starting out attend lessons suitable for beginners from the beginning.
