PRAHA-MARSEILLE REGGAE NIGHT : Jo Corbeau, Colectiv, Selector Boldrik a hosté

Cross club will host a musical reggae connection Prague – Marseille on January 23rd


JO CORBEAU will visit Prague. A reggae singer who has earned a respectable reputation in our country over the years and there is no need to introduce him much. Among other things, he is also a poet, actor, musician and screenwriter born in Marseille. He has been involved in music since the end of the 60s, when he started with rock opera, later he devoted himself to psychedelic rock, but a major turning point came when he heard a Bob Marley concert. Right after Serge Gainsbourg, he was the first to sing reggae in French. In Marseille, he was at the birth of the first reggae band, founded the legendary Massilia sound system, and was also at the birth of the local hip hop scene. He hosted a reggae radio show for many years.

In 1986, he recorded the football anthem of Olympique Marseille J'aime L'OM, which still resonates so much that it received a new guise in collaboration with Cocojammin production. Vůbec Prague, especially in connection with Cocojammin, is his creative environment, where a number of songs were created not only for the Sklizeň compilation. Together with Selector Boldrik, they created the entire dubplate mixtape Corbeau Prague Conjonction. His repertoire is inspired both by the mistral that sweeps through the Mediterranean, as well as by his Armenian origin, but also by his travels in India. Jo Corbeau is a true sun rebel and garlic aïoli prophet. His music is universal, strong in tradition, yet modern. It is the essence of a true and elastically mystical song of eternal love.

Next to the French star of the evening, Colectiv will shine after a long time on the Prague stage, which enjoys respect on the home stage not only within the reggae community, but we can also hear its voice in combination with Rest or Boy Wonder. Tracks like Hop Hop or Dirty sounds will certainly not leave anyone in complete peace and will shake your hips.

The Prague musician and singer Vít Benešovský will open the evening with his mix of genres, where Afrobeat meets hip hop and dancehall.

Selector Boldrik must not be missing, he can boast of the most refined selection far and wide and you can look forward to his dubplates, which must not be missing in any of his sets. In addition, he will accompany the performer as a concert DJ. Ganja Samurai from Marseille, a reggae activist, a hero of the European cbd community, will also be operating behind the mixing desk, who will proudly represent his Golden Buds view of the world.

The program starts already at 8:00 p.m. and the entrance fee, with which you support the performing artists, is CZK 150.
