Joe Alegado started as a classical dance dancer in a ballet company in Texas, where he comes from, continued as a soloist in the Ballet Hispanico company in New York and gradually reached modern dance through jazz technique. He received a scholarship to the prestigious Alvin Ailey Dance School and later became a soloist of the José Limon Dance Company (an ensemble whose founder is one of the most important pioneers of modern dance in the world, José Limon). As a teacher and choreographer, he worked in the United States of America, Central and South America, Canada, and currently works in Germany, Spain, Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic... As a cultural ambassador of the United States Information Agency, he worked in Haiti, El Salvador, Honduras, and Barbados.
Based on José Limona's technique, he created his own movement dictionary - Alegado Movement Language.
We look forward to seeing you!
