Johann Strauss - Netopier (Vypredané)

The cult operetta from 1874 became one of Strauss's greatest successes. Undoubtedly also thanks to the excellent libretto based on the comedy of the German playwright R. Benedix Prison. The order from the Theater an der Wien was clear: "We need excellent music!"

This assignment was fulfilled to the letter by Strauss, who at the time of the performance of The Bat already had a patent for popularity: he was above all pleasing waltzes that took Vienna and eventually Europe and the world by storm. The combination of Viennese nobility, humor, vitality and optimism are the spices that attract the audience to the theater again and again.
