Johnny Marr began started his career with The Smiths and began an impressive journey as one of the most influential songwriters and guitarists in British independent music. On his creative journey he played a central role in The Electronic, Modest Mouse and The Cribs and worked with the likes of The Pretenders, Talking Heads, The Avalanches and musician and composer Hans Zimmer. With him he recorded the score and soundtrack for the recent James Bond film No Time to Die, including the Oscar-nominated title track with Billie Eilish. Since launching in 2013, Marr's solo career has produced four top ten studio albums in the UK - The Messenger (2013), Playland (2014), Call The Comet (2018), “Fever Dreams Pts 1-4” (2022) – and a career-spanning book, “Marr's Guitars” (via Thames & Hudson). The full extent of this extraordinarily prolific creative period is captured in his latest work, Spirit Power: The Best Of Johnny Marr, an extensive new collection curated by Johnny featuring songs from his first ten years as a solo artist, several standalone singles and two brand new releases, "Somewhere" and "The Answer". It is a work that reflects Marr's insatiable vitality, his musical range and, above all, his love of melody.
