Joker James is a project of musician and journalist Alexei Ponomarev. The benefit of the genre “Bardrap”, which contains a hip-hop pier, and the legacy of Russian rock, and the echoes of the British 60s. The emotions accumulated over the years of work in independent media spilled into the whipping tracks on the anger of the day and the melancholy ballads about the braid of all things.
The lyrical hero JJ often completely merges with the author: many of his friends are truly “foreign agents”, he has been monitoring the war in Ukraine since 2014, from about the same time he makes fun of all kinds of “patriots” and guardians, but he is not proudly enlisted by the National Representatives and the Fifth Column. He experiments, missing his voice and a guitar through a chain of effects, laying the parties on top of each other to create a bewitching audience with a sound canvas. The Rodina Tour program includes tracks from the new album of the same name and all the main hits JJ.
