About event
On October 7th, 2025 the rising Ugandan superstar Joshua Baraka is coming to Berlin for his first-ever European tour! In the intimate atmosphere of LARK, the audience can expect a rousing show that fuses African rhythms with modern R&B, Afrobeat and Dancehall - a unique musical experience that brings Uganda's vibes directly to Germany.
From Kampala to Berlin: The musical journey of Joshua Baraka
At just six years old, Joshua Baraka discovered his passion for music - as a drummer in the church in his home district of Bwaise in Kampala. What began as an escape from the dangers of his surroundings turned into a breathtaking career: at the age of 19 he released his debut EP Baby Steps, and shortly afterwards hits like Belinda and Nana catapulted him to the top Ugandan charts.
Today, Baraka is one of the most exciting voices in East Africa, has collaborated with stars such as Joeboy, Simi and King Promise and impresses with a unique mix of contemporary sounds and traditional Ugandan influences. His latest EP Recess proves: This is an artist who breaks boundaries - and can now be experienced live in Germany for the first time!
