About event
Friends of Chamber Music has been around for 10 years and we are celebrating that today with a large, musical party in De Duif. Today you will hear highlights from the chamber music repertoire, with the icing on the cake being Saint-Saëns' festive Carnaval des Animaux!
The concert opens with the moving 'Il Tramonte' for mezzo-soprano and string quintet by Ottorino Respighi , sung by the celebrated alto-mezzo Carina Vinke, no stranger to the series, and continues with Sergei Prokoviev's beloved Overture on Hebrew Themes for clarinet, string quartet and piano. We conclude with the exuberant Carnaval des Animaux by Camille Saint-Saëns for strings, winds, percussion, piano duo and narrator. A festive end to this special anniversary concert! Afterwards you can have a nice drink. We provide the snacks.
