Dr. Olexij Meteňkanych of Komenský University will find time for special Juditalk during his stay in Brno. We will meet him on Wednesday 7. 5.
will bring us the rights of trans* and intersex persons in the case -law of selected European courts. Together we discuss three trends that we can observe in Europe today:
1. negative attitudes by selected court authorities (ie cases of not recognizing the third sex/family - a recent decision in the UK, which attracted attention, to some extent the first decision of the Czech Constitutional Court - Pl. ÚS 2/20);
2. Cases of partial recognition of the third sex/genus (often related to intersex persons, known are the decision of the Federal Constitutional Court in Germany, a similar situation was in Austria);
3. Cases of complete legal recognition of the third sex/genus (here is a known decision of the Belgian Constitutional Court). We are looking forward to seeing you!
