The Bratislava Volunteer Center cordially invites you to a public event on July 14th at 5:00 p.m. at the Summer Reading Room at Červeného raka on Michalská 26.
The public is waiting for another "VOLUNTEER LIST" on the second Tuesday of July - this time dedicated to the Som tu pre Teba program, which connects volunteers with children from disadvantaged backgrounds through regular tutoring and support during education.
Together we will look at why even a few hours a month dedicated to a child can be of great importance - not only for school results, but also for building self-confidence, motivation and a feeling of support.
The guest of the discussion will be a long-term volunteer who has been tutoring children for several years and will bring her personal perspective on what this experience brings to the children and to herself to volunteers.
During the event, we will present:
- how the I am here for you program works in practice,
- what role do volunteers play in children's lives,
experiences of people who have already participated in tutoring,
- what challenges do children from disadvantaged backgrounds encounter in education,
- also how the public can help create fairer opportunities for children and young people.
Part of the discussion will also be the introduction of the upcoming recruitment of new volunteers to the program. The event is therefore intended for all those who are thinking about volunteering, are interested in the topic of education and supporting children or want to find out how they can use their time and skills in a meaningful way.
