Justin Kangmin Kim & Collegium 1704

American countertenor Kangmin Justin Kim will introduce the world of Italian chamber cantata through two German composers whose work has made a significant mark in the history of opera. While Handel's cantata Ah! Crudel, nel pianto miois the work of a young creator who celebrated dizzying success directly in Italy, Carl Heinrich Graun's work belongs to a completely different style current. Graun never visited Italy, and yet with his opera works he significantly influenced the development of Italian opera north of the Alps. His musical language is strongly influenced by the German artistic direction Empfindsamkeit or sentimentalism.

Program:

• Carl Heinrich Graun: Apollo et Dafne< /em> (cantata)
• Baldassare Galuppi: Concerto a quattro no. 4 in C minor
• Georg Friedrich Händel: Ah! Crudel, nel pianto mio (Cantata)
